Dispersing God’s Varied Grace
  1. Our priority is to love one another. 1 Peter 4:8

“Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins.”

  1. Love is the lubrication that minimizes friction in the church and the motivation to care for one another.
  2. Covering sin does not mean anything goes. It means choosing not to be easily offended and then desiring reconciliation.
  3. We are to serve one another with the gift’s we have received. 1 Peter 4:10

“As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another...”

  1. There is no such thing as a “gift-less” Christian. This means we are all gifted for the purpose of serving.
  2. The gift is not for our benefit but for others. It’s not for our glory but for God’s glory.
  3. We are to steward God’s grace faithfully. 1 Peter 4:10

“...as good stewards of God's varied grace.”

  1. Peter calls believers stewards of this grace. A steward does not own what has been entrusted to him; he manages it faithfully on behalf of the owner.
  2. How do we disperse God’s varied grace?
  3. We are to serve in God’s strength and for His glory. 1 Peter

4:11 “whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength

that God supplies...”

  1. God’s strength is to be the means by which we speak or when we serve.
  2. We are not dispersing God’s varied grace if we are serving in our own strength.
